Preview Roundups
November 25, 2017
Washington at Toronto 7:00 PM ET
After flustering the NHL's leading team, the Washington Capitals look to end a three-game road losing skid on Saturday when they visit the another Eastern Conference power in the Toronto Maple Leafs. Alex Ovechkin has scored in back-to-back games on the heels of a six-game goal drought, but the three-time Hart Trophy winner joined the rest of his mates in being shut out by Toronto on Oct. 17.
Buffalo at Montreal 7:00 PM ET
The Montreal Canadiens are providing few bargains on the ice of late, but Black Friday yielded one blockbuster item for the team's fans -- the return of goaltender Carey Price. Sidelined for the past three weeks due to a lower-body injury, Price will be back in net when the reeling Canadiens host the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night.
NY Islanders at Ottawa 7:00 PM ET
The New York Islanders have ample reasons to feel good about their game after completing a home-and-home sweep of Philadelphia, posting consecutive overtime wins for the first time in nearly 10 years. The high-powered Islanders go for their sixth victory in seven games when they visit the struggling Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
New Jersey at Detroit 7:00 PM ET
The New Jersey Devils are not showing any indication they are going away anytime soon and can take over first place in the Metropolitan Division with a win on Saturday against the host Detroit Red Wings. The Devils, who have not made the playoffs since 2011-12, have earned at least one point in seven of their last eight contests (4-1-3) after edging Vancouver 3-2 at home on Friday.
Chicago at Florida 7:00 PM ET
Although Patrick Kane scored twice in his last contest, several other high-profile members of the Chicago Blackhawks are mired in significant goal-scoring slumps. Captain Jonathan Toews, Brandon Saad and Patrick Sharp look to put an end to those difficulties as the Blackhawks complete a three-game road trip against the Florida Panthers on Saturday at the BB&T Center.
Tampa Bay at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins attempt to snap their three-game losing streak when they host the Eastern Conference-best Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday. The Penguins have won only four of their last 13 games, dropping decisions to Chicago and Vancouver before falling 4-3 to Boston on Friday afternoon as they registered just 20 shots.
Vegas at Arizona 8:00 PM ET
Saturday's contest between the Vegas Golden Knights and host Arizona Coyotes is a matchup between the first- and last-place teams in the Pacific Division. Surprising to most, the expansion Golden Knights are the ones at the top of the division as they vie for their season high-tying fifth consecutive victory.
Minnesota at St. Louis 8:00 PM ET
Minnesota Wild forward Nino Niederreiter parlayed a career season in which he set personal-best totals in goals (25), assists (32) and points (57) into being compensated with a five-year, $26.25 million deal in the summer. The 25-year-old Swiss star has continued to pay dividends this season as he carries a career-high six-game goal-scoring streak into Saturday's road tilt against the St. Louis Blues.
Winnipeg at San Jose 10:00 PM ET
The red-hot Winnipeg Jets try for their seventh victory in the last eight games when they complete a four-game road trip against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday. Winnipeg routed Anaheim 4-1 on Friday as the No. 2 line centered by Bryan Little with Nikolaj Ehlers and Patrik Laine on the wings combined for three goals and four assists, and goaltender Connor Hellebuyck improved to 12-2-2 after making 30 saves.
Calgary at Colorado 10:00 PM ET
Calgary's No. 1 line of center Sean Monahan, Johnny Gaudreau and Micheal Ferland is having a November to remember as the Flames complete a six-game road trip Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche. The trio has combined for 22 goals and 21 assists in 10 games this month after Friday's 6-4 loss at Dallas left Calgary 2-2-1 on its trek.
Anaheim at Los Angeles 10:30 PM ET
The Anaheim Ducks' string of 12 consecutive games in California comes to an end Saturday as they attempt to avoid a third straight loss when they visit the Los Angeles Kings. Anaheim has begun the month with nine home contests, including Friday's 4-1 setback against Winnipeg, and two games in San Jose.
