Preview Roundups
February 20, 2018
Florida at Toronto 7:00 PM ET
The Toronto Maple Leafs overcame a brief hiccup in the road to return to their winning ways in their next outing. The surging Maple Leafs aim to prevent the Florida Panthers from doing the same on Tuesday as the Atlantic Division rivals meet at Air Canada Centre.
Columbus at New Jersey 7:00 PM ET
Just as the New Jersey Devils appeared poised to fall off the pace in the Metropolitan, they have battled back into contention in the division by ripping off four consecutive victories. Meanwhile, the Columbus Blue Jackets are stumbling back in the pack with three straight losses as they prepare to visit the resurgent Devils on Tuesday night.
Montreal at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
The Philadelphia Flyers' offense has erupted for 30 goals during its eight-game point streak (6-0-2), but the franchise's age-old goaltending problem is back at the forefront after injuries to Brian Elliott and Michal Neuvirth. Rookie Alex Lyon likely will receive his third career start on Tuesday as the Flyers face the Montreal Canadiens to open a two-game homestand.
Tampa Bay at Washington 7:00 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Lightning no longer are atop the NHL in points and their lead in the Atlantic Division is in jeopardy as they begin a three-game road trip Tuesday against the Washington Capitals. The Lightning have dropped three of their last four games and three straight on the road as their defense continues to surrender goals, averaging 3.4 allowed per game this month.
Nashville at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
A day after climbing into first place in the Central Division, the Nashville Predators attempt to stay there when they visit the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday. Nashville wrapped up a 2-2-0 homestand with Monday's 5-2 victory over Ottawa, which tied it in points with Winnipeg but put it ahead of the Jets by virtue of having played one fewer game.
San Jose at St. Louis 8:00 PM ET
The St. Louis Blues will attempt to avoid their longest losing streak of the season when they host the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night. The Blues, who dropped into fourth place in the Central following Friday's 2-1 loss in Dallas, will follow the matchup against the Sharks with three straight versus division rivals Winnipeg, Nashville and Minnesota.
Los Angeles at Winnipeg 8:00 PM ET
All good things must come to an end as the Winnipeg Jets will discover when they conclude their 10-game homestand Tuesday against the Los Angeles Kings. Winnipeg has gone 6-2-1 on the marathon stretch at Bell MTS Place, winning the last three contests by a combined 17-6.
Boston at Edmonton 9:00 PM ET
The red-hot Boston Bruins rebounded from an uncharacteristically poor performance with a big win to give themselves a chance to move into first place in the Atlantic Division when they visit the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday. The Bruins, who lost 6-1 at Vancouver on Saturday, have won seven of nine contests to start the month after posting a 2-1 overtime victory at Calgary on Monday and trail division-leading Tampa Bay by one point with two games in hand.
Colorado at Vancouver 10:00 PM ET
Twenty minutes from setting a franchise record for consecutive home wins, the Colorado Avalanche saw their chance to make history unravel against the reigning NHL MVP. After having their 10-game home winning streak halted by Connor McDavid and Edmonton, the Avalanche look to regroup when they visit the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night.
