Preview Roundups
November 22, 2017
Washington at Charlotte 7:00 PM ET
John Wall returned, Bradley Beal set a record and the Washington Wizards now have a chance for a winning road trip when they visit the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday. After missing a trip-opening loss at Toronto due to a sore knee, Wall had 15 points and six assists in Monday's 99-88 win at Milwaukee, while Beal buried a pair of 3-pointers to become the fastest player in NBA history to 700.
Brooklyn at Cleveland 7:00 PM ET
Whatever was wrong with the Cleveland Cavaliers two weeks ago doesn't seem to be plaguing the team anymore. The Cavaliers will try to run their winning streak to six in a row and go into Thanksgiving on a hot streak when they host Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.
Portland at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
The Philadelphia 76ers did well to shake off the pain of a difficult loss to open their homestand and they will try to stay hot when they host the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday. The youthful 76ers suffered a second-half collapse against the Golden State to begin their stay in Philadelphia before pulling away for a 21-point win over Utah two days later.
L.A. Clippers at Atlanta 7:30 PM ET
There have not been many positives this season for the Atlanta Hawks, who enter Wednesday’s home contest against the Los Angeles Clippers with just three victories. But the Hawks have been competitive against some of the better teams in the NBA, including an 11-point loss at San Antonio on Monday, and rookie John Collins is grabbing attention with his performance after scoring 21 points with nine rebounds off the bench.
Boston at Miami 7:30 PM ET
The Boston Celtics rallied from double-digit deficits for victories in the last three contests to keep their impressive winning streak alive and can extend it to 17 games when they visit the scuffling Miami Heat on Wednesday night. Boston trailed by 13 with less than eight minutes to go Monday before storming back for a 110-102 overtime victory at Dallas as Kyrie Irving scored a season-high 47 points.
Toronto at New York 7:30 PM ET
The New York Knicks struggled at the Toronto Raptors on Friday in one of their few lackluster performances of late. After bouncing back with an easy win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, the Knicks will get another shot at their Atlantic Division rivals on their home court when they host the Raptors on Wednesday.
Denver at Houston 8:00 PM ET
Even without their head coach and two starters, the Denver Nuggets continued their recent surge, but they'll need all hands on deck for Wednesday's visit to the high-powered Houston Rockets. Nuggets coach Mike Malone was serving a one-game suspension and both Paul Millsap and Wilson Chandler were sidelined, but the Nuggets had more than enough to coast past Sacramento 114-98 on Monday.
Dallas at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
The Memphis Grizzlies are struggling through a five-game losing streak, but help could be on the horizon in the form of their next opponent. The Grizzlies will try to get themselves right at the expense of the worst team in the NBA when they host the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.
Orlando at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
The Minnesota Timberwolves look to get back on track after two straight losses when they begin a four-game homestand against the struggling Orlando Magic on Wednesday night. The Timberwolves had won eight of 10 to take over sole possession of first place in the Northwest Division, but dropped a three-point decision to Detroit on Sunday at home before suffering a 118-102 defeat at Charlotte one day later.
San Antonio at New Orleans 8:00 PM ET
The San Antonio Spurs have done the bulk of their damage at home this season but face a challenging road contest when they visit the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday. The Spurs entered Tuesday with an NBA-high eight home wins after Monday's 96-85 victory over Atlanta, but they're just 3-4 on the road, where they play 19 of their next 30.
Golden State at Oklahoma City 8:00 PM ET
Golden State engaged in some memorable battles with Oklahoma City last season -- Kevin Durant's first after moving from the Thunder to the Warriors -- and he may not be available in the first meeting of 2017-18. Durant is dealing with an ankle sprain and is questionable for Wednesday, when the Warriors visit the new-look Thunder.
Milwaukee at Phoenix 9:00 PM ET
Eric Bledsoe makes his return to Phoenix and is unsure of the reception he will receive when the Milwaukee Bucks visit the Suns on Wednesday. The 27-year-old Bledsoe was banished by the Suns and fined $10,000 by the NBA when he tweeted "I Dont wanna be here" on Oct. 22 and was traded to the Bucks two-plus weeks later.
Chicago at Utah 9:00 PM ET
The struggling Utah Jazz hope to begin a turnaround Wednesday when they host the Chicago Bulls in the first contest of a stretch in which they play seven of eight games at home. The Jazz have dropped eight of their past 10 games, including a 107-86 road loss against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday.
L.A. Lakers at Sacramento 10:30 PM ET
De'Aaron Fox badly outplayed Lonzo Ball in a memorable NCAA Tournament performance eight months ago and now matches up with the No. 2 overall pick as a pro for the first time when the Sacramento Kings host the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday. Fox scored a career-best 39 points on 13-of-20 shooting while leading Kentucky to an 86-75 victory over UCLA in the Sweet 16 when Ball had 10 points, eight assists and four turnovers.
