Senators 3, Blues 2 (OT):
Rookie defenseman Cody Ceci buried a point shot through traffic 3:59 into overtime for his first career goal as host Ottawa halted St. Louis’ three-game winning streak.

Bobby Ryan recorded a goal and an assist and Jean-Gabriel Pageau also scored for the Senators, who improved to 2-9-2 against Western Conference opponents. Robin Lehner made 30 saves for his first victory since November 23.

Chris Stewart scored goals 2:57 apart late in the second period and Derek Roy assisted on both tallies for the Blues, who lost for the third time in 14 contests against the Eastern Conference. Brian Elliott stopped 29 shots.

Ryan found Pageau in the slot from behind the net for a wrist shot that sailed past Elliott’s glove 3:57 into the contest to open the scoring. Ryan forged a 2-2 tie 5:44 into the third period, when he took a pass from Kyle Turris on a rush and slid a backhander around Elliott.

Lehner stacked his pads to prevent Alex Steen from scoring his 23rd goal of the season late in the second, but Stewart scored on a breakaway with 3:10 left in the period to knot the contest. He put the Blues ahead with 12.7 seconds remaining in the session, one-timing a centering feed from Roy.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Blues captain David Backes left the game with an upper-body injury near the end of the second period and did not return. … Ryan has registered 15 goals and 26 points in 19 career games against the Blues. … Ceci finished with 21:08 of ice time in his third NHL game.
