Buddy Boeheim and Cole Swider scored 18 points each as Syracuse posted a 76-56 victory over Boston College on Saturday in Syracuse, N.Y.

Joseph Girard III contributed 16 points and Jimmy Boeheim pitched in 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Orange (14-12, 8-7 Atlantic Coast Conference), who defeated Boston College for the second time in 11 days. Syracuse shot 50.8 percent from the field and a crisp 43.5 percent from 3-point range in winning for the fifth time in six tries.

The Eagles (9-16, 4-11) were led by James Karnik's 11 points and 11 rebounds. DeMarr Langford and Quinten Post added 10 points each for Boston College, which has lost five games in a row.

With Syracuse holding a 9-8 lead early in the first half, Girard's layup ignited a 9-0 run that created the first double-digit lead of the game. Shortly thereafter, the hosts went on a 13-0 burst that turned a 23-15 edge into a commanding 21-point cushion.

Boston College made a late first-half push with the final six points of the session, crawling to within 36-21 at the break. However, the visitors still went into the locker room shooting only 28.1 percent from the field and 1 of 14 from 3-point range.

Buddy Boeheim led the Orange with 12 first-half points.

Syracuse went on a 12-2 run early in the second half. The Orange took their first 20-point lead on Frank Anselem's three-point play with 16 minutes remaining, and then a free throw by Swider increased the margin to 22.

Boston College scored 10 straight points to make things interesting and drop Syracuse's lead to 48-36 with about 12 minutes remaining, but Swider and Girard hit 3-pointers, and then Swider drained another to extend the lead back to 20.

The Eagles whittled the deficit down to 14 with about two minutes to play, but Girard scored five quick points to seal the victory.

Girard finished 4 of 8 from 3-point range, while Swider was 3 of 5 from long distance. Buddy Boeheim went just 2 of 8 from outside the arc but contributed a game-high five steals.
