Simas Lukosius scored 13 points and Bryce Nze added 12 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks to lift Butler to a 56-53 victory over Georgetown on Saturday afternoon in Indianapolis.

Aaron Thompson scored 12 points as Butler (11-10, 4-6) won its second straight game and completed a regular-season sweep of Georgetown for the first time since the 2015-16 campaign.

It was the eighth straight loss for Georgetown (6-12, 0-7), its longest streak in five seasons under coach Patrick Ewing.

Aminu Mohammed paced the Hoyas with 16 points and six rebounds and Donald Carey added 12 and five, respectively.

The Hoyas had a chance to extend the game on the final possession but Carey's 3-point attempt from the right corner was off the mark.

The Hoyas made a determined comeback, rallying from 12 points down in the second half as Kaiden Rice and Dante Harris fueled the comeback with 3-pointers.

Georgetown secured a 53-52 lead with 1:24 left after Harris lobbed to Mohammed for a layup.

Thompson answered with a driving layup to give the lead back to Butler. After a turnover by Mohammed, Chuck Harris made a pair of free throws with 16 seconds left to provide the final margin.

Butler did it with defense, limiting the Hoyas to 36.2 percent shooting from the floor and a 4 of 19 performance (21.1 percent) from beyond the arc against the team that leads the conference in 3-point accuracy. In two wins this week, Butler harassed opponents into 6 of 41 shooting from the arc.

Butler got the lead with an 11-point run midway through the first half. Lukosius triggered it with the game's first 3-pointer. Thompson added a pair of driving layups as the Bulldogs grabbed a 19-11 lead.

After Georgetown missed its first eight tries from beyond the arc, Carey ended the drought with a pair of 3s on consecutive possessions.

But Bryce Golden had the final long-distance answer as his 3-pointer with 3 seconds left in the half put Butler up 32-26.
