South Carolina 63, Mississippi 62: Eric Smith’s 3-pointer with 25 seconds left put the host Gamecocks ahead for good as they snapped a six-game losing streak in dramatic fashion.

South Carolina (13-13, 3-10 SEC) trailed 62-56 before the decisive 7-0 run capped by Smith. After SEC leading scorer Marshall Henderson missed a 3-pointer for Ole Miss (19-7, 8-5), Smith had a chance to extend the lead but missed a one-and-one. The Rebels missed two shots before time expired.

Ole Miss senior forward Murphy Holloway had 19 points and 13 rebounds for his 10th double-double, while Henderson shot 4-for-17 and finished with 11 points. Derrick Millinhaus also scored 11 for Ole Miss, which has lost three of four.

Michael Carrera led the Gamecocks with 13 points and 13 rebounds, and Smith added 12 points.

South Carolina led 34-33 after a half in which it dominated the glass, but the script was flipped in the second half.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Ole Miss missed its last seven shots and fell to 6-6 away from its home court, Tad Smith Coliseum. … South Carolina evened the all-time series at 15-15. ... The Gamecocks had 15 assists against 10 turnovers.
