Sean Kilpatrick had 19 points and eight rebounds to lead the host Bearcats past the Wildcats in Big East play.

Kilpatrick made four of Cincinnati’s 12 3-point baskets as the Bearcats (19-6, 7-5 Big East) snapped a two-game losing skid. JaQuon Parker also scored 19 points and Cashmere Wright added 11.

JayVaughn Pinkston had 12 points and eight rebounds and Mouphtaou Yarou added 10 points for Villanova (15-10, 6-6).

The contest was tied at 12 less than 12 minutes into the game before Wright hit a 3-pointer to start a 9-2 run. The Bearcats led 32-29 at the break.

Cincinnati led 39-33 after Villanova’s Daniel Ochefu hit a jumper with 14:35 remaining. Kilpatrick then scored nine points during a 17-6 run and his 3-pointer gave the Bearcats a 56-39 lead with 7:27 left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kilpatrick (1,323 career points) moved passed Damon Flint (1,316 from 1993-97) and into 21st place on Cincinnati’s all-time scoring list. … Villanova was 3-of-13 from 3-point range and committed 19 turnovers. … Wright was 3-of-14 from the field and is 5-of-26 over the last two games.
