Kendall Williams scored 24 points as the Lobos improved to 12-0 for only the second time since the 1973-74 season.

Tony Snell added 11 points and Hugh Greenwood scored 10 for New Mexico.

Daniel Mullings scored 13 points, Kevin Aronis matched his season high with 12 and Tyrone Watson finished with 11 for the Aggies (5-6).

Sim Bhullar, a 7-5 freshman for New Mexico State who was making his second consecutive start for the injured Tshilidzi Nephawe, finished with six points and two rebounds. His counterpart for New Mexico, 7-foot sophomore center Alex Kirk, had four points and three rebounds.

New Mexico trailed by as many as nine in the first half before eventually taking a two-point lead into the break. The Lobos finally got some separation by scoring five straight points to take their biggest lead, 61-54, with 2:49 left in the game.

GAME NOTEBOOK: New Mexico State and New Mexico were meeting for the second time in four days. The Lobos defeated the visiting Aggies 73-58 on Saturday night. … The Aggies entered the week 24th in the nation in rebounding differential (plus 8.2). They finished with a 35-31 edge on the boards. … The Lobos finished with nine turnovers, the third straight game they’ve had 10 or less.
