Patrick Auda was one of four players who scored in double figures for Seton Hall in its 69-64 victory over Dayton on Wednesday at the University of Dayton Arena.

Auda, a sophomore forward, had a game-high 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting for the Pirates (10-1), who were tied at 58 with the Flyers (8-4) before going on a 7-0 run late.

Seton Hall, which has won six straight since losing to Northwestern on Nov. 20, led by as many as eight points in the first half and took a 34-31 lead into halftime after shooting 61 percent from the field, including 71 percent from 3-point range.

The Pirates extended their lead to 10 points early in the second half, but Dayton rallied back and pulled even after Josh Parker made a pair of free throws with 6:12 left.

However, the Flyers had four straight empty possessions, and Seton Hall — behind a pair of Fuquan Edwin baskets — made them pay. The Pirates stretched their lead to 67-60, and Dayton couldn’t draw any closer than three the rest of the way.

Herb Pope, who was coming a 24-point outing, finished with 14 points, nine rebounds and five assists for the Pirates. Jordan Theodore added 14, and Aaron Cosby finished with 13.

Josh Benson scored 10 of his 14 points in the first half and Chris Johnson added a team-high 16 points for Dayton, which lost for the second time in its last 11 games against a team from one of the six major conferences.
