The Fighting Irish (7-0) ended strong, holding the Badgers (4-2) to just five points over a nine-minute span and riding a 26-8 run to the finish.

Carleton Scott and Eric Atkins scored 12 apiece, and Abromaitis and Hansbrough each added 10 for Notre Dame.

The Irish closed with an 11-0 run to grab a 22-19 lead at the break. Wisconsin found its shooting touch in the second half, at one point sinking 3s on three consecutive possessions as part of a 20-7 run in building a 43-32 advantage.

Notre Dame needed double overtime to get past Georgia on Thursday before defeating California on Friday, during which it held the Golden Bears to an even colder spell than the Badgers – just five points for the entire first half.

Jon Leuer had 19 points and Jordan Taylor 14 for Wisconsin, which reached the finals with victories over Manhattan and Boston College.
