Brian Jorge Diaz led the way with 14 points and Ray Gallegos added 13 as Nebraska cruised past Grambling State, 79-39 on Tuesday. The Cornhuskers (10-2) made their mark on the defensive end, holding the Tigers to 28.6 percent (16-of-56) shooting, including just 2-of-17 from beyond the arc.

Nebraska dominated the first half, shooting 60 percent (18-of-30) from the floor to take a 37-18 lead into the break. Diaz and Gallegos combined for 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting before the break.

The Cornhuskers did not let up in the second half, doubling up Grambling (2-9) 42-21 after the break to cruise to the victory.

Nebraska has won eight straight and gets three more in a row at home, including the Big 12 opener against Iowa State on January 8. It gets a lot tougher after that, with back-to-back trips to top-10 teams Missouri and Kansas.

The Tigers play their next three on the road, which will complete a stretch of 10 straight away from home.
