GRIZZLIES 97, WIZARDS 92: Rudy Gay set the pace with 27 points and nine rebounds and Zach Randolph continued to work his way back into the rotation as Memphis halted a two-game slide.

Randolph, playing his second game since Jan. 1, collected 13 points and nine rebounds in 24 minutes off the bench and Mike Conley chipped in 17 points and six assists for the Grizzlies.

Memphis took control in the third quarter, scoring on seven of their first eight possessions to grab a 58-55 edge. The Wizards briefly jumped back on top, but Gay scored 10 points during a 14-3 burst to close the frame, giving the Grizzlies a 74-66 lead heading into the fourth.

Washington would tie it, 80-80, with 8:22 left in the game, but Conley drove for a layup and handed out two assists in an 8-1 run. Gay’s 3-pointer with 23 seconds left sealed the win.

John Wall recorded 25 points, six rebounds, six assists and seven turnovers for the Wizards.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Memphis dominated the glass, outrebounding the Wizards 53-40. … The Grizzlies nearly doubled Washington in free throw attempts, 37-19. … Jordan Crawford scored 22 points and Kevin Seraphin recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Wizards.
