Monta Ellis scored 36 points as the Golden State Warriors rallied from an improbable deficit in the final seconds of regulation and went on to a 117-109 overtime victory over the host Sacramento Kings on Tuesday.
Vladimir Radmanovic forced overtime with a 3-pointer at the buzzer and Ellis scored seven points in the extra session for Golden State (10-18), which had lost nine of its previous 10 games.
Beno Udrih scored a season-high 34 points as Sacramento (5-21) suffered its sixth straight setback despite leading by 14 points after three quarters.
Golden State trailed by four points when Reggie Williams was fouled with 3.4 seconds left in regulation. Williams made the first free throw and missed the second, but Sacramento rookie DeMarcus Cousins knocked the ball out of bounds with two seconds left, setting up Radmanovic’s tying shot from the top of the arc.
David Lee had a basket and free throw to give the Warriors a 111-109 lead with 1:25 left in overtime, and the Kings didn’t score again. Ellis threw in a no-look, over-the-head banker to seal it at 115-109 with 44 seconds to play.
Williams scored 24 points for Golden State, with Dorell Wright added 17 and Lee contributing 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Carl Landry had 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Kings. Tyreke Evans had 15 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists and Cousins grabbed 13 rebounds.
