Joe Johnson scored 32 points and the Atlanta Hawks rebounded from a humiliating performance to post a 103-87 victory over the host Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday.

The Hawks (29-16) scored as many points in the second half against Charlotte as they scored the entire contest in losing 100-59 to the New Orleans Hornets a night earlier. The point total against New Orleans was the Hawks’ lowest since moving to Atlanta in 1968.

It was a different story Saturday as Johnson made 12 of 18 shots and Atlanta played crisp basketball while outscoring the Bobcats by 21 points in the second half.

D.J. Augustin scored 20 points for Charlotte (17-25).

Josh Smith had 16 points and seven rebounds for the Hawks, who were again without injured center Al Horford (ankle) and forward Marvin Williams (back).

Mike Bibby and Jamal Crawford each had 14 points for Atlanta, which shot 50.7 percent from the field. The Hawks shot just 29.1 percent in Friday’s debacle.

Boris Diaw added 12 points for the Bobcats, who saw leading scorers Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace combine for just 17 points. Jackson was 3-of-14 shooting and Wallace made just 2 of 9 shots.
