Paul Goldschmidt had three hits, including a homer, David Peralta homered for the ninth time in 16 games, and Clay Buchholz pitched seven scoreless innings as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Los Angeles Angels 5-1 on Tuesday in Phoenix.

Goldschmidt drove in two runs, scored two and finished a triple short of the cycle as the Diamondbacks completed a two-game interleague sweep of the Angels while maintaining a 1 1/2-game lead in the National League West. Arizona has won six of seven.

Goldschmidt extended his hitting streak to 14 games with his 29th homer in the first inning, and Peralta hit a two-run homer for a 5-0 lead in the seventh inning. He has a career-high 25 homers.

Buchholz (7-2) gave up three singles, a double and no walks while striking out seven. He has allowed more than three runs only once in 13 starts this season, and opponents have scored one or zero runs in eight of his appearances. His ERA fell to 2.25.

Rene Rivera had two of the Angels' five hits, and he was the only runner to get as far as second base off Buchholz when he doubled in the fifth inning.

Jabari Blash doubled and scored on the second of two groundouts in the eighth inning to help the Angels avoid their eighth shutout defeat of the season. They have lost five of six.

Goldschmidt homered with two outs in the first inning after A.J. Pollock opened the inning with a double. Goldschmidt hit his franchise-record 96th homer at Chase Field, breaking a tie with Luis Gonzalez.

Goldschmidt singled to lead off the fourth inning and took second on Daniel Descalso's check-swing single down the third base line. Goldschmidt took third on a flyout and scored on Nick Ahmed's single. Ahmed has a career-high 58 RBIs.

Peralta's homer followed a single by Eduardo Escobar in the seventh.

Right-hander Odrisamer Despaigne (0-2) gave up five hits and three runs in four innings, with four strikeouts and one walk. He made his second start for the Angels after his contract was purchased from Miami last week, the franchise-record 34th pitcher Los Angeles has used this season. He is 0-4 with a 7.78 ERA in four career starts at Chase Field.
