Twins 3, Rangers 2: Chris Herrmann hit a tying two-run homer in the seventh inning and Justin Morneau followed with a go-ahead blast as visiting Minnesota halted Texas' three-game winning streak.

Liam Hendriks (1-2) gave up two runs - one earned - in six innings to outduel Yu Darvish and win for only the second time in 25 major-league starts, helping the Twins halt a five-game skid.

A trio of relievers combined for two scoreless innings before Glen Perkins notched his 31st save in 34 chances, denying the Rangers their 20th win in August. First-place Texas saw its lead over Oakland in the American League West drop to two games.

Darvish (12-6) carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning but walked leadoff batter Brian Dozier before Herrmann and Morneau launched back-to-back homers. Darvish was charged with three runs on as many hits and fanned 11 in 6 2/3 innings - his 11th game this season with at least 10 strikeouts.

Jurickson Profar hit his fifth homer in the third inning for the Rangers, who went ahead 2-0 in the fourth when Ian Kinsler singled, stole second, moved to third on catcher Herrmann's throwing error and scored on A.J. Pierzynski's groundout.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Morneau's blast was the 221st homer of his career, moving him past Tony Oliva for third place on the franchise list. ... Rangers RF Nelson Cruz, who was suspended 50 games as part of the Biogenesis scandal, apologized for the "mistake I made" and said Friday he hopes to be a part of the team if it reaches the postseason. ... Twins RHP Samuel Deduno, who came out of Thursday's game after three innings, will be examined Saturday after an MRI revealed issues in his rotator cuff and labrum. OF Wilkin Ramirez is done for the year after suffering a fractured left tibia on Thursday.
