Rockies 13, Dodgers 3:
Red-hot Carlos Gonzalez had two hits and took over the National League RBI lead and Wilin Rosario hit a two-run homer as host Colorado extended its season-long winning streak to five games.

Colorado, which took advantage of Los Angeles’ season-high four errors, blew the game open with four runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by Rosario’s eighth homer - tops among major league rookies. He finished with three RBIs.

Dexter Fowler was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored as Colorado scored 10 or more runs for the third straight game. Fowler is 14-for-23 with nine RBIs in his last six games.

Gonzalez is 15-for-26 with six home runs, 11 RBIs and nine runs scored over his last six games and has 45 RBIs this season, one more than Los Angeles’ Andre Ethier.

Alex Castellanos recorded his first major league hit – an RBI triple – for the Dodgers, who extended their season-long losing streak to five games and lost for the seventh time in nine contests. Castellanos added a sacrifice fly in the sixth.

The Rockies’ Josh Outman, a reliever thrown into the starting rotation after Jamie Moyer was designated for assignment Wednesday, worked 3 1/3 shutout innings and struck out five while on a pitch limit.

Adam Ottavino (1-0) was awarded his first major league victory. He struck out three and allowed two hits in 1 2/3 scoreless innings.

Chris Capuano (7-2) lost for the second time in four starts. He allowed seven runs (four earned) and walked four in 5 1/3 innings.

The Rockies took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on catcher Matt Treanor’s throwing error. As Rosario stole second, Treanor’s bid to pick off Michael Cuddyer at third sailed into left field, allowing both runners to score.

Chris Nelson and Cuddyer finished the onslaught with back-to-back homers leading off the eighth inning.

The Dodgers had five players in the starting lineup whose fathers played in the major leagues: Tony Gwynn, Ivan De Jesus Jr., Scott Van Slyke (Andy), Dee Gordon (Tom) and Jerry Hairston Jr. … The Rockies have scored 53 runs during their winning streak.
