Dodgers 8, Mariners 2: Andre Ethier broke out of a slump with a grand slam and Chad Billingsley worked seven strong innings as visiting Los Angeles took the rubber game from Seattle.

Tony Gwynn Jr. and Dee Gordon each added an RBI in the six-run second inning for the Dodgers, who have won six of seven.

Los Angeles rallied with two outs against Blake Beavan (3-6) in the second, taking the lead on the back-to-back RBI singles by Gwynn and Gordon before a walk to Elian Herrera loaded the bases. Ethier followed and took a 3-2 fastball out to right-center.

Ethier entered the game 4-for-33 on the current road trip.

Billingsley (4-4) allowed a solo homer in the first inning to Kyle Seager but settled down to only surrender two hits in his seven innings. The right-hander struck out eight and walked three in his second straight win.

The Dodgers tacked on two runs in the eighth to put the game away, getting RBI singles from James Loney and Adam Kennedy.

Beavan lasted only two innings and was charged with six runs on five hits and a pair of walks. The 23-year old has allowed at least five runs in each of his last three starts, rocketing his ERA to 5.92.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Mariners totaled six runs in the three-game series and rank last among AL teams in home scoring with 79 runs in 25 games. They are hitting under .200 at Safeco Field - the lowest home mark in the majors. … Billingsley had gone nine straight starts without a win before taking his last two. … Ethier has been invited by teammate Matt Kemp to join the NL Home Run Derby team. Kemp, who is currently on the disabled list, is serving as captain of the NL team this July.
