Dodgers 6, Cardinals 0: Clayton Kershaw threw his fourth career complete-game shutout and extended his scoreless streak to 22 innings as Los Angeles won its sixth straight game over visiting St. Louis.

Kershaw (4-1) allowed six hits with no walks and four strikeouts on 117 pitches in the seventh complete game of his career. The Dodgers won their third straight and improved to 18-4 at home.

St. Louis was shut out for the third time and lost first baseman Lance Berkman with a right knee injury after he stretched for a throw in the second inning.

Los Angeles took the lead in the fourth inning when replacement first baseman Matt Carpenter was unable to field Adam Kennedy’s ground ball, allowing Bobby Abreu and Andre Ethier to score.

Justin Sellers hit his second career home run as part of the Dodgers’ four-run seventh inning, when the Dodgers sent nine batters to the plate.

Jake Westbrook (4-3) gave up four runs – three earned – over 6 1/3 innings for the Cardinals, who have lost their seven of their last nine games.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Top prospect Matt Adams is likely to be promoted from Triple-A Memphis to replace Berkman on the Cardinals' roster. The first baseman was hitting .340 with nine home runs and 27 RBIs for Memphis. … Kershaw’s double in the eighth inning was his first extra-base hit in 219 career at-bats. … The Dodgers had five doubles, including two by catcher A.J. Ellis. … Berkman, who missed 21 games earlier this season with a calf strain, had reconstructive surgery on his right anterior cruciate ligament in 2004.
