: Josh Reddick went 4-for-4 with two homers, four runs scored and five RBIs as host Oakland exploded for a season-high in runs to snap a two-game slide.

Former Tiger Brandon Inge added a home run and four RBIs and Seth Smith had three hits and an RBI for the Athletics, who jumped back over .500 at 17-16.

Detroit, which took the opener on Thursday, has not won back-to-back games since April 17-18.

Tom Milone (5-2) went seven strong innings to earn the win for Oakland, allowing two runs - one earned - and five hits while striking out six and walking one.

The A’s entered the night in 13th in the American League in runs scored but have started to break out lately with at least six runs in three of their last four games. It all came together on Friday, with Reddick taking charge.

The 25-year-old gave Oakland the lead with a solo blast in the third off Rick Porcello (3-3). He added an RBI single in the sixth two batters in front of Inge, who made it an 8-2 lead with a three-run homer, his fifth.

Reddick struck again in the seventh, putting the game away when he took a first-pitch fastball from Collin Balester just over the outstretched glove of Ryan Raburn in right. The three-run blast was his eighth of the season.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Inge, who was picked up after being released by the Tigers last month, has gone deep in four of the last five games. … Porcello lasted five innings and was charged with four runs on nine hits. … Tigers 3B Miguel Cabrera had two hits on Friday and is 6-for-9 with five RBIs in the first two games of the series.
