Troy Tulowitzki belted a three-run homer and added a solo shot and Seth Smith also went deep as the Colorado Rockies recorded their sixth straight victory with a 9-2 triumph over the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday.

Eric Young and Jonathan Herrera added two-run singles for Colorado (75-64), which claimed its 13th win in 17 games.

The Rockies remained 4 1/2 games behind the Atlanta Braves (80-60) in the race for the wild card. The Braves posted a 9-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday.

Aaron Cooke (6-8) notched his second straight victory thanks to the offensive explosion. The 31-year-old right-hander allowed one run and six hits in five innings to pick up the win.

Joey Votto and Paul Janish had RBI singles for NL Central-leading Cincinnati (79-60), which fell for the fifth time in six games. The Reds didn't lose any ground, however, as the St. Louis Cardinals (72-65) dropped an 8-1 decision to the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday.

Bronson Arroyo (14-10) dropped his third straight contest. The 33-year-old right-hander permitted seven runs and eight hits in 4 1/3 innings in this one.
