Michael Cuddyer knocked in a pair of runs as the Minnesota Twins erased an early deficit and posted a 4-3 victory Tuesday over the Detroit Tigers.

Danny Valencia went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Joe Mauer scored twice for the Twins, who have won 12 of their last 14 home games.

Minnesota trailed 3-0 after two innings but plated two runs in both the sixth and seventh to improve to 6-1 at home against Detroit this season.

Cuddyer got the Twins on the board in the sixth with an RBI single and scored two batters later on Valencia's ground-rule double. Minnesota staged the winning rally in the following inning with the help of Detroit's bullpen.

Phil Coke (7-4) began the seventh and loaded the bases by hitting two batters and walking another. Ryan Perry came in and walked Cuddyer to force in the tying run before yielding an RBI single to Delmon Young.

Tigers right fielder Casper Wells saved another run on the play, gunning down Jason Kubel at the plate for the third out.

Matt Guerrier (3-7) retired the only batter he faced in the seventh while Randy Flores and Jesse Crain worked the eighth. Matt Capps stranded the tying run at third base in the ninth for his seventh save in nine opportunities with the Twins.

Wells went 3-for-3 with a run scored and Jhonny Peralta collected three hits and an RBI for Detroit, which has lost four of six.
